About us
JD Dance has been running successfully since 2011. Formed by studio owner Jessica Devlin at the age of 19, it started as open classes throughout the Tyrone and Armagh area with the vision of one day owning and running a dance studio that our students can call home. Over time our numbers at classes grew significantly and in 2016 we opened our Beautiful Studio (JD Dance Studio) on Coalisland Main Street in Jessica’s Home town.
Our studio has grown from strength to strength since 2016 and we now offer a wide range of dance styles that cater of all ages and abilities. Here at JD Dance Studio not only can you enjoy our classes at a social level but we train dancers to compete at some of the World’s most prestigious competitions as well as preparing students for further education in dance! We offer anything from Dance Fitness fun to Elite Competition Training at our weekly classes. Our fully qualified Instructors strive to provide our students with the most professional and enjoyable experience at JD Dance studio classes whatever your aspiration may be.
We take great pride in creating opportunities for our students to showcase the hard work and talent that they have. Our students have secured resident roles in Pantomimes and Parades and have been hired as entertainment for Events and TV appearances. What we are best known for is the amazing success of our Elite Competition Team who competes at Competitions all over the world including travelling to events in France, Florida and South Africa. The team’s success speaks for itself with a combination of over 40 World and European titles over the last 5 years.
We are also delighted to be able to offer Studio Hire to other Fitness and Dance instructors in the area. Our Studio facilities are modern, spacious and fully kitted with a spring dance floor and mirrors. Along with this JD Dance Studio is fully supportive of all your needs and will help to market your classes in any way we can.

With over 10 years’ experience as a Professional Dancer, Performer, Choreographer and Teacher she’s trained in various dance styles and graduated with a BA Hons Degree in Dance Development from Buckinghamshire New University. Jess is also a qualified Personal Trainer, Certified Acrobatic Arts Level One Teacher, and a Certified Judge with World Dance Masters. She has had the opportunity to appear on TV shows and documentaries such as :Keep her Country BBC/RTE1 and The One Show BBC1 and to worked as a Choreographer for CITV series – Ted’s Top Ten!

Marketing Manager
Layla is a professionally dancer and performer who graduated from Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts in 2019. Since then, she has performed with various artists including Little Mix, Rita Ora and performed on the Royal Carribean.
Layla has taught HipHop/Commercial and trained students for Competition at JD Dance for 5 years. She is also one of our Allstar competition dancers and has to date has 5 World Champion Titles. Layla has recently taken on the role of Marketing Manager for the studio, managing all our social media platforms. She is always on hand and happy to help you find the best suited classes for you!

Ballet Teacher
Christine started dancing at the age of 4 where she competed in Irish Dancing competitions around Ireland. She then joined local Theatre (CRAIC), where her interest and passion for movement flourished. She went on to complete her Foundation Degree in dance at Belfast Metropolitan College, where she met studio owner Jess. Christine got to know Jess very well and once JD Dance Studio opened a notice for a Ballet Teacher, she had to go for it. Christine believes the fundamentals of all dance styles is Ballet Technique. Christine describes JD Dance studio as her 2nd home.
Shaleigha McGurgan
Assistant Teacher
Shaleigha has danced competitively at JD Dance Studio from the age of 7! She is Professionally trained in various styles of dance!
In all her years of competing with JD She has gained an outstanding number of over 38 1st place Titles including:
World, European, Ulster, Irish Masters and All Ireland Titles. She has also had various performances opportunities including staring as a background dancer in CITV series – Teds Top Ten!
Shaleigha has been assisting Jess with classes for many years and loves having the opportunity to pass on her knowledge and experience to the new students!
